Interview with PKD's widow

Source: Interview: Tessa Dick, author of The Owl in Daylight, and widow of Philip K. Dick

For those of you who don't know, I'm a huge fan of Philip K. Dick. In case you don't know, he was a pioneering genius of speculative science fiction. He was more of a philosopher than a science-fiction writer, but his stories are science fiction. He's the mastermind behind the stories of Blade Runner, A Scanner Darkly, Paycheck, Next, Minority Report, and I think Total Recall. His ideas were also discussed in the movie Waking Life.

I came across an interview with his last wife, Tessa Dick. It was interesting to find out that she had quite a bit of input in Philip's ideas and creative process. They don't talk much about his ideas, but my favourite bit is when she talks about when he had his famous visionary experience (outlined in his book VALIS), and she says: "he was closely involved in raising our young son and handling all the
little cares of daily life. It was as if he were two or three
different people."

Tessa has a blog called It's a Philip K. Dick World!

Cryptic cartoon

Okay, here's something we can all get involved in. I found this quite ambiguous cartoon and am having trouble grasping the meaning. I'm sure we can all come up with many weird and wonderful possible interpretations for this one, so I thought it would be a really good creative exercise to do. Here is the cartoon in question; I would say that there are three different frames, but maybe it's all one image, I'd love to hear the interpretation to that!

Please leave your answers as comments, I'd love to hear what you think is going on here!

Dream imagery available on request

Gotta tell you about this cool thing I just found, called Dreamlines. I found out about it from the good old RealityCarnival site, which happens to be a goldmine of cutting-edge info. It's amazingly complex and technological, but to put it simply, you enter in some keywords just like a search and the program creates an endless parade of vague images based on your keywords. It's really amazing, trippy and surreal like a dream; the way you never know exactly what the image is because it's always changing and the images are never really finished. The idea is that it gets images from Google Images based on your keywords, and then uses those images to create incredibly complex compositions. It looks like there are hundreds of invisible spiders weaving webs everywhere until the image starts to take form; kind of ghostly looking.
I can't do it justice; it's one of those things where you just have to 'take the trip yourself'. Dreamlines, check it out. All praise to Leonardo Solaas for bringing this into existence.
